New global campaign to advance Bitcoin circular economies

(May 7, 2024) The team at Bitcoin Beach (El Zonte, El Salvador) is pleased to announce a new campaign to support Bitcoin circular economies around the world, delivered in partnership with Geyser and the Federation of Bitcoin Circular Economies (FBCE). The campaign consists of educational content, grant funding for emerging Bitcoin circular economies, and ongoing mentorship and support for grant recipients.

A Bitcoin circular economy is a local economic ecosystem where Bitcoin (BTC) is used increasingly by individuals, families, businesses, and local organizations as a means of paying for goods and services, and as a tool for savings and community development. Projects working to grow a local Bitcoin circular economy typically include local Bitcoin education activities, support for merchant use of Bitcoin, social impact and economic development programs using Bitcoin, and other relevant activities.

Over the coming month, emerging Bitcoin circular economies around the world will be invited to participate in a series of online educational workshops and to submit applications for small grant funding. A global evaluation panel will preside over the selection process.

A total of 0.5 BTC will be made available through the campaign, distributed among successful grant applications. Grants will support recipient projects to strengthen various aspects of their local Bitcoin circular economy, aligned with the local needs and priorities of their community.

Full details of the campaign including timelines, workshop dates, grant submission process, funding amounts and criteria will be released soon via the campaign page at geyser.fund/grants/bcegrants

Key Grant Details

A total of 0.5 BTC is allocated for this grant round, which will be distributed across successful projects.
